Wondering what would make an engagement shoot even better? The things you love most of course! Allison and Matthew are both big hockey fans and dog lovers, so they decided they’d like their shoot to include hockey jerseys and their pup Juneau. Considering I’m a big hockey fan (at 10 I liked to tell people I’d be the first girl in the NHL) and an obsessive dog mom, I had absolutely no arguments.

Allison and Matthew are the kind of people it is impossible not to be friends with. Their love is gentle and warm and they welcomed me right into their lives like we’d know each other forever. I drove down from Montreal for their wedding weekend and they let me stay in their home, snuggle their dog, eat pizza with them on the couch, and tag along as they picked up flowers and went to check in at their venue.

We woke up bright and early the morning before their wedding for this little shoot at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It might be a bit unconventional to take your engagement photos the day before you get married, but as far as I’m concerned there is no right or wrong way to celebrate love. If you didn’t take engagement photos and your wedding is quickly approaching, you shouldn’t think that its too late, because these two are proof that any time is a good time for photos! We got in the way of plenty of tourists trying to enjoy the views of the city, and then went out for biscuits and gravy afterwards. It was pretty much perfect.
